    Tracking Club of Wisconsin
SnoCow III - The Revenge of the Weather Gods!
    Walworth, WI

The tracking Club of Wisconsin held their third annual “Sno-Cow" tracking test. So far, we’ve yet to have it snow at Sno-Cow, instead the test has been dubbed Fog-Cow and Ice-Cow for the past two years. This year continued the tradition, being named Rain Cow, though it may well have been called Cow Stew, with rain, fog, ice and melted snow with a few minutes of sunshine in the middle!

Regardless of the conditions, the tracking gods were smiling as 6 of 7 competing dogs passed! Track 1, a golden retriever, owned and handled by Pat Adair of River Falls, WI, started the day with pass #1 to become Dichi Holiday Parade, TD.

Track 2 was not so lucky, and our only failure of the day.

Passing on track 3 was Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Redleaf’s Diablo Rojo, now TD, owned by Constance Goetz of Hudson, WI.

Track 4 continued the trend and brought out Rueger’s Gun Powder & Lead, now TD, a German shepherd handled by Amy Dane of Kenosha, WI

Catharine Greene of Maple Park, IL, took to the field on track 5 with Labrador retriever Cabin Creek’s Moment of Truth and kept up the parade of new titles with yet another new TD.

Track 6 brought tracking newcomer Jennifer Langness of Prescott, WI to the flag and Dejac’s Leader of the Pack, a Wirehaired pointing Griffon, earned his TD despite his handlers nerves!

The judges had plotted an alternate track and the first alternate was able to run it and earn the 6th title of the day! Bullmastiff CH Bastion’s Dream Girl, CDX, RAE, AXP, AJP, OA, OAJ, NF, added the letters TD to the string at the end of her name, and owner Kimberly Cook of Donnellson, IL, proclaimed her a VCD2 as well, with this title!

Congratulations to all, and thanks to judges Lois Ballard and Gretchen Stevenson for plotting such great tracks and! AKC Field Rep Betty Winthers was present to observe and to administer a test and interview for TCoW member and aspiring judge Deana Steel. Lois’s observation at this test qualifies her to move from provisional to approved status, and having passed, Deana will soon have provisional status. Betty’s comments were all complimentary regarding the test, from the judging to the great tracklayers and superb hospitality!

    Terri Everwine,
    Test Secretary/Chairman

TCoW's next events are a TD/TDX on May 9 in Palmyra, WI and a VST on July 4 in Whitewater, WI
